On Friday, November 15, we will be celebrating the giant leaps engineering has made in healthcare. The field of Biomedical Engineering came to Purdue in 1974 and many innovative firsts have followed since, helping millions of patients worldwide. During our day of celebration, we will remember those who led the way, discuss the technologies of today, and discover how we can change the future of healthcare tomorrow.

Join us for a full day of inspiration and persistent innovation. Historical Firsts: The innovation of Biomedical Engineering has brought many firsts to Purdue: energy-efficient defibrillators, xenogeneic tissue grafts, CT reconstruction algorithms, neonatal intensive care monitoring systems, and more. Helping millions of patients worldwide.

Current Efforts and Achievements: Today we are working on medical technologies that can be worn, safely and securely; treating obesity and type 2 diabetes; improving outcomes from stroke; long-acting injectables; developing devices for pediatric patients and so much more.

Charting the Technical Future of Medicine: What are the next big healthcare challenges? Through strategic research, collaboration and partnerships, we can make giant leaps in changing the world of healthcare.
